Poetry & Stories
A collection of poems and stories I've made
Anytime I pray
May 15 2008, 1:14 PM
Ten in the evening, the party was starting,
I was checking girls and the things they were wearing,
I saw this one there, in my mind I said wow,
She looks nice,
She looks nice,
Her body was fire and I felt like ice,
Coz my heart was melting as I looked at her twice,
She looked into my eyes, and I knew she was mine,
All the other chicks would have to wait in line,
I came up to her, she came up to me,
I said dance with me, she said I agree,
She rocked that big nice booty my way...
And started wyning like it was the last day -
On earth, she must have been a.. professional,
Coz I wanted to take things to the next level,
A voice said nah, resist the temptation,
You know God is against fornication,
I listened to the voice, listened to the music,
Then I looked at the way her ass was so sick -
In a good way, there was no way, I was gonna let that drop for another man to say hey,
So I held her closer, squeezed it tighter, felt her up and down, up and down,
Up and down, up and down,
Then she whispered in my ear, told me to come here,
Took me upstairs with my hand on her rear,
She went into a room, she pulled me inside,
She said deal with me, I said I agree,
A voice said nah, nah, nah!
But I said yes, yes, yes!
I pulled out.. rubber like a great.. magician,
Showed her tricks on the bed by the cushions,
I showed her trick one, with a leg in the air,
I showed her trick two, while I pulled out her hair,
On trick seventeen I felt like a plonker...
Coz I came, I saw, but didn’t conquer -
The feeling of discomfort I felt at the time,
Was it God on my back coz I stepped out of line?
I walked back home with my head kinda low,
Coz I felt like God expected much more,
I thought to myself, did I make the right choice?
I could still hear the sweetness of her voice,
4 in the morning, the party is over,
I think back at it while taking a shower,
Tomorrow is Sunday, the day I go church,
I guess tomorrow I’ll repent and I’ll search,
For God like I do every other Sunday,
Coz it’s like He don’t hear me
Anytime I pray.

How I wish
May 15 2008, 1:06 PM
How I wish to go back in time,
And not just in rhyme, but in reality,
How I wish to taste again, the delicacy,
Of my mother’s cooking,
How I wish to once more be, small in stature,
To have arms wrapped around my frame,
And hear with loveliness, the call of my name,
How I wish to feel the sun on my skin again,
While out in the garden, swinging on the swing,
Not giving a toss about any given thing,
Coz there was nought to lose, and all to gain,
Even time seemed to favour me,
Every day would be as pleasing as could be,
How I wish to go back to that time and space,
The time when I appreciated, any given place,
That I’d find myself in, with fast food super sized,
The dentist and injections, were the only things despised,
How I remember the youthful faces of my brothers,
And the vitality of my father and mother,
How they would sing, and how they would bicker,
Though all the while, my bones grew thicker,
And I slowly saw my setting begin to change,
The first house I stayed in, forever out of range,
As we moved out to another area,
Where memories emerged without malaria,
Still the platform turned, and it never stopped,
Until I found myself separated, and the floor newly mopped,
With yet another place, another house, another story,
But things had already changed, the joys were history,
My facial hair a reminder, that things could never again be,
As they once had being,
What a sad ending,
To a beautiful infancy, leaving me stranded, lonely,
And wishing wishes which can never be.

A star shines in the sky
March 30 2008, 11:40 AM
A star shines in the sky,
While a bitch is walked around, by her master,
And while a neighbour lives a dog’s life,
And while a husband sadly hears the last words,
Of his dying wife.
While a surprise party is held, in one apartment,
And while a secret weapon is made, in a secret department.
While a stranger falls, in love at first sight,
With a lady of the night.
A star shines in the sky,
While some pray to their God, or to their gods,
And while fishermen dream, of better fishing rods,
And while a woman is constantly haunted, by nightmares,
Of world poverty.
While a boy gets a visit, from the tooth fairy,
And while lovers spend the night, passionately.
While an uncle gets electrocuted,
From a broken TV.
A star shines in the sky,
But only a select few,
Will behold its beauty,
Only a few villagers, from a remote community,
Witnessed how it was extraordinarily lovely,
They made sure to spend a moment to appreciate it fully,
Before it faded away once more,
Within the depths of the galaxy.
